SO I was planning on trading my xB in because the ride had become uncomfortable, the noise was starting to get to me, and all of that fun stuff that made it lose it's fun.

Well....Who knew what kind of difference a set of tires could make! I've had Falken Ziex tires on my car since I put the rims on. I just had them replaced with Hankook Ventus s1 Noble2, what a world of difference. The road noise is less than what I bought the car with, the ride quality is significantly improved, and I have fallen in love with my car all over again.

Anyways, I recommend the Hankooks!

Yay, good for you!

I bought used rims several years ago with lightly used Yokohama S-drive tires on them. I ran them for several summers before they needed to be replaced. They were really noisy, but I was too cheap to buy tires just because of that.

I find it amazing that a single thing could make such a difference.

I had the same thing with my crv I had a thumping type wheel bearing whir sound driving me crazy as soon as I put new tires on (Continental touring) it stopped! I didn't realize how bad my old ones must've been! My xB has awhile before it needs tires but I had good experience with continental & Bridgestone on past cars so I'll probably go with them. I had falkien on my wrx and hated them!

I put on Bridgestone Potenza's which I'm very happy with.

Also, when I replaced the tires, I went up one size. It makes the B handle and ride better.

Mine are 17s as well. I put the wheels on the car about after I had about 5k miles on it, I just kept replacing the tires with the same things. So glad the snow made me get something different. It feels like a new car. Now I went out and ordered a bunch of stuff for it >.<

I bought Blizzaks for my stock steel wheels. They make a HUGE difference in the snow (I see you're in WI). They are so much better than all-season radials. Plus I can buy dedicated summer tires for my 17's. :)
