Thanks xseveredveganx. Just thought that it may be like the load resisters that Super Bright LED sold. They state that it gets hot like a bulb so keep it away from plastic or paint . Thats all there is behind the cover.
I would say he is right. The reason is that LED's don't use as much power. If you don't have that box the turnsignal circuit will think your bulb is burnt out and flash fast like when you have a blown bulb.
Another thing tI thought that it could[/i[ be would be a power supply. I've seen people retrofit their OEM taillights with a gaggle of LED's and they had to build a power supply. I can't recall why they said they had to do it, all I know is it looked like waaaaaay more work than I wanted to do. :lol:
