I got a 2010 Scion Xb and I am looking for an intake to buy. Is this legit? It looks like a cheap one. Any brands that for sure work?

haha! It comes with everything and it does it's job. Just swap filters. I'm just waiting for mine to get dirty...

I have a 2010 as well. I wouldnt chance getting any other CAI other tahn the TRD one. I am all about tuner, but I am more about keeping my warranty. Anything that has to do with performance will be installed by my Toyo dealer. IMHO. Best of luck.

do you buy parts and just get them installed there? the dealer install prices are purdy steep, i have a trusted place i've been going to for a long time, so i get good deals

I got some at sparks, then went to my toyo to get it installed. My next big venture is (knock on wood) Strup Headers and exhaust. Lets see what santa sends me

I have the Fujita CAI installed and not worried about the warranty....Sparks Toyota sells them (or did at one time) without any disclaimer on the warranty....DIY of bolt on products will not void the warranty according to the Scion Service department that I deal with...there have been other posts on this that say the same thing.

As long as the part you install is made for your specific vehicle, is installed properly and is not the direct cause of the issue you are wanting to have serviced under warranty they can not deny your claim.

So basically if you put a honda civic intake on your scion you are not covered, if you use duct tape to attach it to your manifold your not covered, if you put on a turbo and your motor blows your not covered... you get the idea.

If they are blaming your aftermarket part or equipment for causing the failure, ask them to show your or prove to you how that happened. Or ask another mechanic or dealership.
