So, I am on the market for some new wheels, I want to see what you all like, give me idea's.
I have a 2008 Release series 5.0

GO! :D

Lets make this interesting, If someone finds a wheel that I end up buying, I will send them a refurbished HID kit for free..
(The HID kit I bought the left light quit working so I sent it in, and I don't feel like waiting 2-3 months on the refurb, So I bought a new kit) I am a man of my word.

What are you after?
Size? Larger? 18-20?
Performance?
What color are you thinking? Sliver? Dsrk (black, gunmetal, etc)? Bright? Shiny?
Ride smoothness?
How large a budget are you thinking? 500-800? 1000? 5000? That makes a HUGE difference as to options.

Each has its own kind of rims that would work great

On my xB, I'm going for performance as primary w/ ride as secondary, all w/in a smaller budget. I am married w/ kids and have other expenses that make multi-thousand dollar rims hard to justify. Others don't have that. Plus, I want them to be cheap enough to be replaceable in the future fairly easily.
I am getting (this week for arrival) 16x7 Rota Slipstreams (14 pounds/each) in flat black w/ red lip. That makes for 6-8 pound reduction per-wheel and I can still get extreme performance rubber on them (in 225/50/16), in the same width as on much wider rims. Keeping 50-55 ratio tires means the ride won't be any harsher (taller rubber works as shock-absorbers for minor road irregularities) and I can still get performance shocks/springs w/o the ride-notice of the wife and kids.

For looks and "bling," or a VIP or "street racer" /F&F look, you'd want MUCH larger diameter rims.

Size: 16-18 Nothing Bigger.
I would like to go with like a flat black wheel, gloss black, or gunmetal.
I had chrome 18's, and it ate through my gas tank. But there is a guy on Scion life selling some work vs-xx wheels fora good price and man those are baller :naughty:

But I wouldnt mind any light weight wheels either. So many choices.

Money wise, Im trying to spend less than $1700 with both wheels and tires.

if that's a "good" price (FS ad on scionlife).....you can get a better rare set for cheaper.

dude....more importantly are the offsets. you want to go lower dude. like +24 and below. i'm currently on 17x8+24 and 17x9+39 (wish i could have gone a little lower on the offset but it's nothing a spacer could fix) on tokico HP and DF210 suspension wrapped on 45 NO RUBBING.

The stock bore is 60.1 and the offset is 45.
You HAVE to go bigger than 60 bore for it to fit. Otherwise it is like trying to fit a kids hat on an adult.
For offset, you'd want a smaller number, not bigger. If the offset is larger, any width wider than 6.5" is all on the inside and toward the wheel wells.
I'd recommend a 40 over 48.
