Looking for a owner in North Atlanta GA area!

Hi,
I'm a newbie to xB as you can see. I know a guy who builds exhaust systems from the hearer/s back and he is just North of Atlanta GA. He would like to get an late model xB in his shop to make jigs for a full 2.5" exhaust system. He makes great exhaust system as I have had a few of his systems for our Mazda MX-5's / Miata's. He biggest movers are for Miata's with 4 bangers to V8's, he build systems for MINI's, welds up systems for the company in the link below. He uses mandrel bends, Magnaflow & Borla mufflers, welds Mig & Tig, uses stainless steel or can get parts ceramic coated. He has his flanges custom water cut.

Please fell free to email at; [email protected] me or PM me anytime.

Jason shop is small and he does it all by himself, this is his web site below.

You are indeed a "newbie", but my observation is you have a highly exaggerated opinion of yourself. You're welcome to the community, but please recognize the greater experience of those who preceded you. The value of the community is their combined experience and resulting insight, your presumed knowledge is helpful to no-one, most definitely including yourself. Best wishes :)!
What did I say to upset you?

I'm new and this is the 1st Toyota/Scion I have owned that was not a 4x4. I don't tow my quads to the dunes anymore & a bunch of other things truck owners do. So we didn't need a truck any more and Toyota/Scions are the best built auto's in the market period! Plus I can't buy a truck in white (AZ summer heat) with a manual transmission. (I like to drive, not ride in!) I will never buy a American owned maker again, been there done that mistake three times. We have two dogs, we like taking them with us places, we go to Costco and buy a boat load of stuff, gas keeps going up & up & up....I think you get my point? These are the three main reasons we bought the xB. Plus it's cute in it's own way. Nissan tried to sale me a Cube, sorry they are flat out fugly. I know the xB is not a race car and I'm not trying to make the xB into one. I'm just looking for a better flowing exhaust system that can still be somewhat quite. My loud exhaust system days are far behind me.

I was told by many a Toyota parts personal the scuba was a resonator and was told the same by Toyota tech's it was a resonator also. Why should I note trust the person who make's their living by repairing Toyota / Scions?

Truly Sorry,
AZ

If I can get someone over to Enthuza I can have Jason build a complete exhaust system.

Now I need to research a TRD quick shifter & OEM alarm system. My mods will be complete other than maybe buying Hotchkis sway-bars. I bought a TRD rear sway and it really helps but I *think* I might want a little more bar. We owned a MINI Cooper S also, thank God for lemon laws. It was really fun to drive but fun only goes so far when the cars at the dealership getting warranty work. :(

I'm responding to the bull you dumped on us in the Scion xB forum -- playing innocent doesn't work, integrity does.

Here's the thread I'm referencing: "Scuba" is it a Cat and or Resonator? Plus... - Scion xB Performance & Tech Help - Scion xB Forum

I'm not saying your suggestion is bad, just that I'm unable to trust your opinion.
"Trust my opinion"

The only "opinion" that has changed is doing a full exhaust system from 2.25" from the OEM header to the rear OEM muffler. (I'm guessing the ID of the OEM muffler is 2.25") After I went under the xB with a mic. and found the front half of the "S" pipe is 2.5". I then wanted to do 2.5" from the OEM header to the tip.

Why don't you ask TartanJack about Enthuza. I'm willing to bet he knows of Enthuza's/Jason's work.

I'm here because I'm a new owner and would love a sweet sounding exhaust system. We bought the xB for my DD and my Miata is now a garage queen. I rarely listen to the stereo, I just drop the top and listen to my Enthuza exhaust system. Yes, I have bought a few exhaust systems from Jason, & he has helped me every step of the way. I know Jason is a good tradesman and has great customer service. If he wanted 1k for an exhaust system I would gladly pay it. If I had the time I would drive from AZ to GA for an exhaust system from Jason. He has been very good to me as a customer.
I'm betting some of the younger owners would like a plug & play "test pipe" instead of the "scuba". I was younger many years ago.

Randy

TrevorS,

Why don't you call Scion @ 1-866-707-2466 and follow the prompts? (#3)

When you get the nice Scion rep on the phone, ask the rep nicely that you would like to know what the 3rd piece of pipe is on the Scion xB 2008 to present day Scion xB exhaust system. That's what I did. I told the rep, "The 1st part is a header/manifold with a hole for the front/1st 02 sensor & a cat. The 2nd is a bent pipe some call an "S pipe." It also has hole for the back/2nd 02 sensor. I would like to know what the 3rd pipe is in the exhaust system. Can you please tell me?" It's large, and I would like to know what it is, please.

There is no reason why we can't all play in the same sandbox. Did your kindergartener teacher put a check mark in "Plays well with others?"

Don't be a troll, :nono:

To ALL here, I'm truly sorry!

Your right about this scuba thing it has gotten completely out of hand. I was just going by what a few part's men & a few tech's were telling me, thus not trusting the reply's from the internet owner's.

It would be nice if a local Atlanta owner would be so kind as to let Enthuzacar/Jason take measurements to make their own custom exhaust system built by Jason @ Enthuzacar. Trust this, Jason is a Great Person as well an Great Fabricator!

Many of the photo's in the MX-5/Miata NC section on the Enthuzacar web site were taken by my wife. Heres what I have to say about his work, as many owners who have installed aftermarket parts know some part's don't fit the best as you need use punches to line up holes to get bolts in/thru pry here push here, I think you get my drift. I truly couldn't believe his part's just bolt right on. I don't know how he does it, but he does.

I apologize to ALL here & TrevorS I'm sorry buddy. Can we be cool and stop this crap?

Oh, I'm installing a Curt hitch next to carry the bike rack. I still like to ride MTB's.

Just for what it's worth...

Are we cool with each other now? No more of this :boxing: crap?
I'll need the car for a couple of days. I'll have to remove the stock items, measure and draw the flanges in Solid works, and have them laser-cut. Then build the prototype system out of tubing while making notes and taking photos of the install and any clearance issues. Once I get the prototype part built. I will build the Production Jig, make a production item in the tooling, and fit the production piece on the car. If I can get someone local. I'll need the car for a day to make the prototype, and I'll re-install the OEM system and let the car go home. Once I get the Tooling and production piece made I'll have them come back for installing/checking the production piece. I'll be glad to work out a killer deal for someone helping me by lending me a car. Jason.
Jason,
I should just drive East the 1800 miles out to see you & back the 1800 miles. Scion does the 1st few oil changes for N/C. I still have the little 4x9x2.5" in & out metallic cat that flowed too good for the MX-5 system.

Now that I installed a Curt hitch and lost some room to the left side. I'm still thinking a 6" round x 18" x 2.5" in/out would fit where the scuba is now. I see Magnaflow also makes a 6" round with offsets but the body is only 14" in length. The little OEM polished tip just slides right off.

The funny part about this exhaust system is after the OEM header & cat the first 9 or so inches the exhaust pipe OD is 2.5" then it drops in size to 2" as it goes up and over the sub frame. At the next flange it goes to 2.375" into the scuba and coming out of the scuba the exhaust pipe OD is smaller than 2". Sorry I don't have the numbers right.

I'm sure a smoother flowing exhaust system will help the Scion a little with HP but it's still not going to be 400HP race car.

Thanks Jason,
AZ

FYI,
Enthuzacar / Enthuza / Jason is out of town this weekend to enjoy sometime with his family.

I told Jason today 1-17-12 see if he could rent an xB when he gets back and I would pay for the rental. He asked if there was any difference between model's? To my knowledge there wasn't any as far as the exhaust system go's. Please let me know if there is.

My only issue is I installed a Curt hitch for a bike rack.

Update.

I called Jason today and left a massage for him to call me back to talk about muffler sizes for the xB system I'm having built.

He said he heard something about a Scion show or something to that effect this March (2012) on the 23, 24 & 25 in Atlanta GA. Anyone know what's going on?

He would still like to see an xB and make some measurements for an exhaust system, he has been real busy as of late.

Thanks in advance,
AZ
TJ, can you please contact Jason and give him the info on the show?

I owe you an adult beverage!

Thanks!
