Looking for a owner in North Atlanta GA area!

Hi,
I'm a newbie to xB as you can see. I know a guy who builds exhaust systems from the hearer/s back and he is just North of Atlanta GA. He would like to get an late model xB in his shop to make jigs for a full 2.5" exhaust system. He makes great exhaust system as I have had a few of his systems for our Mazda MX-5's / Miata's. He biggest movers are for Miata's with 4 bangers to V8's, he build systems for MINI's, welds up systems for the company in the link below. He uses mandrel bends, Magnaflow & Borla mufflers, welds Mig & Tig, uses stainless steel or can get parts ceramic coated. He has his flanges custom water cut.

Please fell free to email at; [email protected] me or PM me anytime.

Bell Experimental Group - BEGi

Jason shop is small and he does it all by himself, this is his web site below.

Enthuza Car, Inc.

Thanks for looking,
AZ

Boys, your getting WAY to upset over what wasn't the main point of the thread . . .

Enthuza wants to build an xB2 exhaust and is looking for a vehicle in its area to "borrow" so they may make jigs for the B. THAT was the point.

The scuba issue is a good discussion, but doesn't need to be so heated with "lie" and "troll" charges thrown around so quickly . . .
A simple "I think your mistaken on the scuba" with an explanation for what is a relatively new design idea (combined cat and resonator/muffler) would have gotten across the point without the combativeness.
I apologize TJ, i dont know much about the subject i was just speaking up about the apparent injustice involving a new member...
To ALL here, I'm truly sorry!

Your right about this scuba thing it has gotten completely out of hand. I was just going by what a few part's men & a few tech's were telling me, thus not trusting the reply's from the internet owner's.

It would be nice if a local Atlanta owner would be so kind as to let Enthuzacar/Jason take measurements to make their own custom exhaust system built by Jason @ Enthuzacar. Trust this, Jason is a Great Person as well an Great Fabricator!

Many of the photo's in the MX-5/Miata NC section on the Enthuzacar web site were taken by my wife. Heres what I have to say about his work, as many owners who have installed aftermarket parts know some part's don't fit the best as you need use punches to line up holes to get bolts in/thru pry here push here, I think you get my drift. I truly couldn't believe his part's just bolt right on. I don't know how he does it, but he does.

I apologize to ALL here & TrevorS I'm sorry buddy. Can we be cool and stop this crap?

Oh, I'm installing a Curt hitch next to carry the bike rack. I still like to ride MTB's.

Just for what it's worth...

Are we cool with each other now? No more of this :boxing: crap?
I've never had a problem at all! I really hope someone gets over to this spot and gets this done! We need better options, and it doesn't seem that anyone wants to step to the plate! It suuuuucks.

Like I stated, I'm willing to send out an entire exhaust setup if I get a prototype to test. I'd prefer the cool price of free, but I understand that material costs money. If he wants to shoot me a PM with an estimate of what we'd be looking at, I'll look at my current funds.
Trevor does like to argue moot points...and after the thread on SL, id say you like to troll as well.
FWIW -- LEDmod didn't seem to think my input to his thread was moot -- surely it's his call. Funny think about "moot", it's that way if it doesn't effect you, but it's not if it does.

In any case, as Jack pointed out, it's not the topic of this thread.
What all and about how long would this involve? I live about 3 hours from Atlanta. I was wondering if you would have to take anything off of the car or what. I can come over there on a Saturday for you to get the measurements, but if it is going to take all day then I probably won't be able to. My wife wants to go to Atlanta for a day. Just let me know please.
Please read.
I'll need the car for a couple of days. I'll have to remove the stock items, measure and draw the flanges in Solid works, and have them laser-cut. Then build the prototype system out of tubing while making notes and taking photos of the install and any clearance issues. Once I get the prototype part built. I will build the Production Jig, make a production item in the tooling, and fit the production piece on the car. If I can get someone local. I'll need the car for a day to make the prototype, and I'll re-install the OEM system and let the car go home. Once I get the Tooling and production piece made I'll have them come back for installing/checking the production piece. I'll be glad to work out a killer deal for someone helping me by lending me a car. Jason.

Jason,
I should just drive East the 1800 miles out to see you & back the 1800 miles. Scion does the 1st few oil changes for N/C. I still have the little 4x9x2.5" in & out metallic cat that flowed too good for the MX-5 system.

Now that I installed a Curt hitch and lost some room to the left side. I'm still thinking a 6" round x 18" x 2.5" in/out would fit where the scuba is now. I see Magnaflow also makes a 6" round with offsets but the body is only 14" in length. The little OEM polished tip just slides right off.

The funny part about this exhaust system is after the OEM header & cat the first 9 or so inches the exhaust pipe OD is 2.5" then it drops in size to 2" as it goes up and over the sub frame. At the next flange it goes to 2.375" into the scuba and coming out of the scuba the exhaust pipe OD is smaller than 2". Sorry I don't have the numbers right.

I'm sure a smoother flowing exhaust system will help the Scion a little with HP but it's still not going to be 400HP race car.

Thanks Jason,
AZ

So, one full day, then another significant part day or full day a couple/few days later. Sounds doable.
Don't forget that as the exhaust cools, it requires less volume for the same pressure, gases are like that :)! That's why I'm comfortable with Toyota's pipe diameter reduction choices (about 1.8" for the "scuba" exit pipe). However, if you go turbo, then the gas flow changes radically! If you really want power, that's the route to explore :)!

Do we have a taker!? Please say yes! Tired of the mediocre options currently available and it's nicer to actually spend money with someone that is willing to work for it.
Interested, yes. But, it's 4 hours from me and I'll need to figure out the logistics.
if I was closer Id give you my xB to work on, it's just sitting in a garage right now.

Just reread my post and see that I'm coming across as a wet blanket :(! FWIW -- let me mention there's an easily noticeable positive difference in vehicle responsiveness between the OE cat back and my 2.5" Tsudo dual. How much of the hindrance is the OE rear resonator Vs rear piping diameter Vs dual axle-back pipes, I've no way of knowing, but there's very definitely a difference.
FYI,
Enthuzacar / Enthuza / Jason is out of town this weekend to enjoy sometime with his family.

I told Jason today 1-17-12 see if he could rent an xB when he gets back and I would pay for the rental. He asked if there was any difference between model's? To my knowledge there wasn't any as far as the exhaust system go's. Please let me know if there is.

My only issue is I installed a Curt hitch for a bike rack.

No difference in the exhaust system :)! However, the hangers for the exhaust can interfere with those used for the hitch. I hit that problem with my original Tsudo dual exhaust when installing a Curt. My solution was to modify the Tsudo hangers, but it's my impression the later version dual Tsudo exhaust has compatible hangers. Something to discuss :)!
Update.

I called Jason today and left a massage for him to call me back to talk about muffler sizes for the xB system I'm having built.

He said he heard something about a Scion show or something to that effect this March (2012) on the 23, 24 & 25 in Atlanta GA. Anyone know what's going on?

He would still like to see an xB and make some measurements for an exhaust system, he has been real busy as of late.

Thanks in advance,
AZ
