I had (2) Type R's back in 2002 or so in a bandpass and loved the way they sounded in my trunk... I am new to the openness of the xB2 and I am afraid, lol, to drop (2) 10's again as I feel it would be too much for my old ***.

I was looking at dropping in 1 10" either ported or bandpass (I like sloppy bass) but being that I have kids, I wanted to A: keep the price reasonable and B: save space.

I was looking at either a SA10-D4, SWR-10D4 or an IDQ10 and I feel that even that is going to be too much for me. I play primarily industrial music.

I'm having a hard time finding a box. I feel that a custom box, while worth it, is out of my range. I was looking around the 300-400 price point TOPS!

Any ideas?

have you considered either of the stealth boxes available for our gen 2s? i have the bazooka and love it. great sound and still enough room to take the gf and dog camping for the weekend. pluse i think they are available for around 200 now, far below the 350 i paid for mine.

I did consider the stealth, but I was afraid it wouldn't be loud enough. The JL ones are too much, but the bazooka seems reasonable.

No regrets?

I have the bazooka and am very pleased with it but if you have the coin that customsubwooferencloser looks way more flush! I think there is a group by going on on one of the forums to get one for $200

The Bazooka works fine for me, plus it plugs right into the stock headunit wiring as a self-contained unit.
No amp or other parts/stuff needed- just a bit of time installing it. That and a willingness to drill some holes in the side plastic.

I ended up with a powered Rockford 12" sealed and I HATE IT! I guess if you're new to subs then this is great, but it's not what I wanted or had hoped for. It'll hold me over for a little bit, but I am already looking to replace it with (2) 10's in a ported/bandpass...

i have the dual 8 inch JL Audio w3 enclosure, ported...its pretty small and sounds great, plus it doesnt take up much space; should i need the little space it does take up, its easy to move/remove. should cost between 300/400 depending on what site u find. needs an amp tho.

this is my amp - a less powerful amp would be plenty strong for this enclosure tho, i initially was powering the BassWedge with it but it was so large i cudnt use the trunk so i went with the 8 inch woofers.

You could go with a Sundown SA-8D4 V2 and a .75 cu.ft. ported box tuned to 34hz, coupled with a 600watt amp and you will be MORE than satisfied. The setup will take up little space, look **** impressive and sound amazing.

I went with a Skar Audio VVX-10D2 (only $120 since it is a discontinued model) powered by a Kenwood 600watt RMS amp ($100 refurb unit) and it bumps pretty good.

I have a Sundown 10 in my shopping cart already (maybe adding a second as trunk space is not needed any longer; got a 2012 Explorer) and an Alpine 5 ch amp with 6.5" Type R's for the doors.

Now to convince the wife that this is my mid-life crisis.

I just hate wasting money on something. It's hard to listen to systems when you hate everyone in Miami (Northern NJ transplant)

I just installed the Bazooka 8in sub and really like the low end it supports. It all depends on what you are expecting. If you are looking teeth rattling,its not for you.
