Today is the day of 13th month of ownership of my xB and I wanted to create this thread so I can share my work with you guys and gals! (And be able to remember everything I have done) So, in the following days and weeks, I'll be updating with what I have done for the past months with my silver box :)
Since I'm nowhere near finished with my projects for the xB, I hope this thread will grow with the years!
Feel free to ask any questions and post comments !

Did it to the dome circuit huh. Did you 3way it for a constant on also if you wanted?

Very cool though.
Yepp! I might add some underglow one day, so I used a 3-way switch

Now that you have so much added to that circuit, where are you actually tapping into. I mean you gotta have a nice clump of wires somewhere. At that box where the plug is?

Well, my driver footwell is becoming quite crowed, but all my wires are tightly secured and the circuit is fused. For the trunk area leds, I tapped them on the existing trunk light circuit and fused it at 2A, just in case.
I used an ampmeter today to see how much juice the interior and the exterior lightning pumped, I got 1.76 A

Front speakers changed for JL Audio TR600-CXi

Switch for the amp

Switch for the fogs

Scion Door Sill

Front Cup Holders

Finally, an On-OFF-ON switch to control the leds like the dome light : On-Off-Fade in/Out

I added leds for the footwells too.

Haha, that is sweet. Now you need to have it chase back and forth like Knight Rider, lol. Very nice. I see you got some new stripes on your quarter panels also.

Last month I removed my summer wheel and installed my winter rims. Even after a month, I still feel like the xB is on some sort of jell-o... Acceleration, hard cornering and braking aren't what they used to be :p 225/40R18 to 205/55R16, that's something !
Oh and by the way, I went through my front tire set in roughly 15k miles... I wouldn't recommend the Falken Ziex-912 for durability, but the grip and braking abilities were top notch!

Thanks hehe.

Question, do you guys that switch wheels for winter do that just to protect them? Any other reasons?

Yeah, we have snow, a lot of snow, sometimes more than 4 ft in 24h. And when that snow melts and freeze, we have icy roads, sometime wet ice. We need winter tires with big, aggressive and grippy threads. I use studded tires since I live in a mountainous area. Futhermore, they use calcium on the roads to melt the ice, so it would corrode the alloy wheels, hence the use of the steelies.
I hope it helps

Yeah that makes sense with the studded tires. I have a friend that lived in Burlington, VT so pretty close to you and they did that also.

We get snow and ice and salt and stuff here too (though not as much) so I was just checking. I'd hope wheels would be able to take that kind of abuse. They don't give you two sets when you buy a car. Maybe the aftermarket wheels don't have as durable of a finish? I don't know if they use calcium here but you probably mean some kind of salt with calcium.

The way this winter is going who knows if we'll get snow...

Down here, studded tires and chains are actually illegal- as they tear up the roads.
When the road freezes, we sand them and wait a day or 2 for them to thaw. Then, all good.

Before anyone says "Southerners Can't drive on ice" . . . remember that down here, we have sheets of black ice and zero snow pack or extra grit added. I don't care who you are, you can't. Back when my father picked up his BMW 5-series, we did the one-day driving school BMW offered. While there, a father & son from Pennsy picked on us about show. I got one of the driving instructors (former race & rally driver) involved . . . he backed me up. He won't drive in it till it thaws, as he values his car.
Also, the cars in the ditches after a snow/ice storm often have Northeast or northern midwest tags . . .

As for this winter, part of me is expecting a major storm, probably in late Feb or early March (when we usually get the big ones).

I do know they basically shut down Dallas, Texas if there is any snow in the forecast though :)

Yeah black ice is no joke. You don't want to drive on ice if you can help it.

Being retired, I see snow reports in the morning and I get another cup of coffee. After the maintenance crew cleans the side walks and parking lots ( I live in an apartment complex), I usually get out about 11 ish, clean off the B,and go see some friends at the local coffee shop.
