Hey guys, wondering if anyone could possibly do me a HUGE favor. As y'all know, I bought a 2011 USED. Thing is, the gas door has always had issues. It sticks out, and is not "tight". I tried fixing it but unfortunately made it worse. Sometimes it opens with the pull at the driver's door and sometimes it doesn't. Can someone please post a pic of how the door hinge should look with a close up on the screws and washers? I'm dying to get this thing repaired!

Thanks!

Don't know what exactly you need to see, but I hope these help. If you need something else, let me know. I didn't think that maybe you need a pict of the latch pin.

A related question: Went to fill up and the gas door release did not work. Door does not open. Any suggestions for a fix? Need to get gas! 2009 XB
Hmmm...I assume you pulled hard just in case it was stuck. Possibly have someone lightly push the fuel door in while you pull up on the release. That might reduce the friction on the catch and make it release easier. That's just a guess though.

Do you know if the release cable travels under the car or inside? You might take a look at where the cable connects inside the fender (under the car or behind the inner panels?) and at the lever. If the end of the cable came loose and is moving it wouldn't operate the latch.

You might also swing by the dealer and ask to talk to a tech. Tell them you need to get gas and can't leave your car. They might be able to walk out and fix it in a hurry.
