Needle reset after cluster disassembly

I'm really wanting to paint the silver around my gauges to match my interior (which is drying blaze purple as I type) but I'm concerned about repositioning the needles. Is there a way to "calibrate" them for lack of a better term when I'm ready to put them back? I haven't taken the cluster out yet, I'm hesitant on that part. Anyone with experience it would be awesome. Until then, I'm going to go fight that las ac vent. My giant hands don't fit in the small spaces very well :(

As long as you don't remove the needles (like to get the face plate off) or "tweek" them in some way, they will be fine.

If you just pulled off the clear plastic part, then the silver part, you'll be fine.
Does the silver come off without taking the needles off? I kind of want to paint the silver in the middle of them too. The videos I watched said twist counter clockwise to remove and reverse to put back on. One said to adjust the left stop. That's where I get iffy
On the 08-10 style faces, yes.
The 2011-on . . . never looked close enough.
I'm sure it'll be fine. Maybe I'm just over thinking it
the bezel comes off once you remove the clear lens. needles never get touched or removed i painted mine flat black the first day i got the car.
I see you have a 2008. I think the 2011-13 setup is different
Got them out. Painted. Back in. And reset. Easier than I anticipated. Pics coming soon. Still have to do that far right ac trim. And wrap my hood. It's hot outside and I don't want to be out there for 2 hours. Ugh.

I'm considering changing my gauge lights to purple. Emailed the guys at oznium asking if their purple is bright enough or if I gotta go with another color
I have Purple/UV leds in mine and it is not bright enough. It looks great at night but you won't be able to see the speedo and clock in day light.
Yea that doesn't sound good. I don't want blue or red. Anyone have experience wit white? What about the UV with the needles and the gauge faces that aren't LCD?
I'd email the guy at ledmod.com. I bet he has pictures of several different color gauge led's to show you.

The needles are tinted orange so they won't change color. Usually when you change the gauge face you go with white LEDs behind them so the colors on the gauges show true. I'm actually changing the speedo and clock to white as soon as I get some time to replace them. I'll take some pics when I do it.

I found a pic of mine with the UV LEDs, you can see that even with just moderate light they are starting to wash out, is full sunlight they are unreadable.

That looks awesome man!!
Thank you. It feels like My eye are less "focused" on the silver aroun the gauges since the purple set back in the shadows is hard to see. Plus it ties my UV lights I with everything else during the day time.
