Hi,

I am a new 2009 xB owner and really love my new Scion. Bought in Dallas last wednesday. Getting leather installed next week for $1K.

I do smell some rubbber or plastic burning after I park in the garage. Not sure what is that. Does anybody know about it?

New cars do that. My -6 Escape and my 09 xB. The factory leaves lots of stuck on parts. Just try not to think of the free radicals flowing around your garage and bombarding your lungs. (heard the new car smell is toxic, too)

Congrats on the new xB2. I've had my in the same color since August 1st. That plastic smell is the odor of credit card for all the mods you are making. I know that is the cause of the plastic smell in mine. Enjoy and have fun!!!

Another Stingray Met. Nice. I actually haven't seen a color yet I don't like but I love my Stingray metallic. Welcome. BTW, I never read the owners manual but we keep finding nice surprises about the xB. My daughter swears the stereo turns itself louder if your speed is up and then lowers itself back down when you slow down. Also, at night, when you open the door to get into your car the dome light comes on right? Turns itself off after you shut the door? If you put your foot on the brake it will stay on until you take your foot off the brake! Cool huh? No reaching up to switch the light on. It's almost scary like the car has a brain or something........ :yes:

yeah, it was kinda cool. We had gone out to eat one night after a Halloween thingy at the library and we all climbed in and my daughter (the driver) shut her door and the light stayed on. I accused the grand daughter of moving the switch and she said she hadn't. Then I told my daughter she must have. She said, "no, look, it says it's on door" or whatever is the eqivalent to being controlled by the door. I thought we had a electrical problem. LOL Once she took her foot off the brake pedal the light faded.

I just tried the brake pedal thing for the light. On mine when you close the door the light stays on for about 15 seconds unless you turn the key, then it goes out. If I close the door and have my foot on the brake, it goes out in about 15 seconds unless you turn the key.

My daughter says there is a setting on the radio that changes the volume depending on your speed. My car does it to but only after she was playing with the radio for a bit. I'm no teenager so I don't know what the setting is but if you ask a kid, I'm sure they could find it. LOL

If you push menu button and set the highlight for audio, press volume knoob and you can access Bass, treble, Audio control like left right and front rear adn ASL which is what your daughter found. Volume increases with spped to account for road noise basically!!

Also Turn Power off and hold down menu button and get more features!!
