Hey everyone! I'm really glad I found this forum.
I am the happy new owner of a 2009 XB black sand mica. This is my second XB. The first was a 2005. We also have a 2006 TC in the garage (wife's car) along with my 2003 MINI COOPER S.
I work at a local TOYOTA dealer so if I can help out with any questions at the dealer level feel free to inquire. We installed TRD lowering springs before I even took delivery of the box on Tuesday night. I can't believe how much quicker this one is than the 1st GEN.

Anyhow, Greetings, and looking forward to meeting / conversing with everyone!

Cheers,

OCTOS

CONGRATS!

So . . .
Will it be named the "Black Pearl" . . .?

(The color is Black Sand Pearl, and is known on here by the shorthand: BSP. Just an FYI, not a correction.)

Welcome! Like the fact you're naming it after Slow Hand's guitar. (FYI: at one point his band was mostly Tulsa folks :D)

Since you had a gen1 XB, I'd be interested to hear how they compare...besides the obvious increase in horsepower. Space, handling, etc.

Thanks to all, and hello to TulsaToaster!

It is so much nicer than the GEN1. The power is obvious. The auto trans in this version is really allot more usable to me. I think it handles better, but I put TRD springs in before I even drove it so not a fair comparison really.
There is definitely more room especially in back. I am not a huge fan of the center console i.e. the "cup holders" or the external IPOD jack!
There is much more room in the rear area, but I was good with the GEN1 with the seats down. I actually checked to see if a 4x12 MARSHALL cabinet would fit in the first before I leased it. LOL.
We did kind of like the boxiness of the GEN1, but this one is much nicer overall.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Yep. That's about what I figured. My only complaint about the console cup holders is that one of them is too small to hold a travel cup.
I've got a couple of friends that have Gen1's. One lady at the office bought two gen1's when they first came out; one for her and one for her husband; both silver  Still have them both and love them.
