Just bought a 08 XB used with 8000 miles on it here in Chicago land. I really like it a lot. Getting ready to do some mod's to it.
I was bummed out to find that the radio was satellite ready but needs to have Toyota XM radio (fit kit, xm radio and cover) installed for the head unit work with it. The cheapest price I have found on the parts is at Scionpartspeople.com. about 270.00. I plan on diy-ing the radio and was wandering if anyone had advise (and or has done this) on taking the dash apart or have the link for Toyota’s (manual pdf) for the install for doing such a thing.
The other mod I want to make is getting rid of the orange dash lights and replacing them with blue led's. I found a kit on ebay really cheap and have friend that has no problem soldering them in circuit boad for me. Once again does anyone have any advise on doing this or has had it done.
Here's the link for both items.

I love having the XM radio and its a great option. I just bought one last month and then found a pink slip instead of a Christmas card. I figure its better to sell off some of the parts than loose the car so I listed it on ebay today. Sparks has a great download service that you can see ho much work it takes to put in the factory units. The hard part is tearing...or should I say gently removing trim to run wires. But after its done you have a perfect factory install for less than half the price.
