Hello everybody!

I am new to the Scion and xB2 community since I just bought my son a used 2008 Blackberry Crush Metalic (with only 14,000 miles ). It is his first car. He is 16 and just starting to drive. I just couldn't leave well enough alone so I joined NSxB.com to learn how best to mod his car. We are working together to make it more "fun".

So after quite a bit of research, I have added tint, alarm system, AEM CAI, Borla Dual Exhaust, and the factory rear wing. Awaiting to be installed are the TRD springs, TRD Strut Tower Brace, and Hotchkis Front/Rear sway bars. Those will be installed next Friday along with new wheels/tires. I have on order staggered 19" wheels from TSW (Jaramas) and 235-35-19 tires. I did a bit of research and hope I will not have any issues with rubbing . That is really the reason I opted for the TRD springs over others with more drop. Also on order is a carbon fiber kit for the interior as well as the exterior (window frames). Still to order is the header and the Five Axis aero kit. Stereo is OEM and is okay for now but hope to improve that in the future as well.

I love the way the xB2 drives......after the mods I know it will be much better. My son says I am as giddy as a school girl!!! :clown:

I look forward to learning from you all. Stay well!

ok do you want to adopt a 39 yr old? Are you sure you bought this for him? haha. This is awesome, you have started off very nicely and have made some great choices. Keep posting so we can see some pictures.
LMAO JRINCON17!!!! My wife and friends all think this is for me too! I drive a Tundra and I am jealous......I want a xB2 now!!! I will be going down to Ft Lauderdale next weekend with the mods on the car. Hopefully I will get some pics to post here.

hey no spring break for you ! yeah cant wait to see some pics. these cars are fun and easy to mod.
You're right....no Spring Break madness for me cause my very tolerant wife's madness would break my springs! Going down to get the wheels/tires, and suspension components installed next Friday and then off to a car show.

I went to anzousa.com.......those look sweet. Lighting is a whole 'nother issue and something I want to do down the road after the major mods so thanks for the heads up (saved to my favs).

I see you are from Riverside. I used to live in San Bernardino and then in Moreno Valley when I was in the Air Force. Miss the Cali scene. Still have many good friends out there.

Thanks for the comments guys.....I will take some pics tomorrow of our vanilla xB with Borla and AEM CAI installed and post some images. Here are some rear end shots I took a week ago after installing the rear wing and with the custom plate frame my son thought up :boxing:. More pics in a couple of weeks after I get new shoes and do the drop.

Welcome to the site.

Ahem, some girls love their xB's maybe more than the guys. Look in my sig for the mods I've done to mine and see how lovable these cars are. Also, more guys own tC's in our area than girls, so hahaha!

Helen: your mods are quite extensive....hope to catch up to you some day. Really want to do lights like you and others have done so when the time is right I will be following your lead on how to do it.

The plate frame is just my son's idea to poke back at the ladies :pokey:! Around here in Central Florida we see plenty of gals driving trucks and large SUVs....quite of few here in town that have graphics that state: "Silly boys....trucks are for girls" :flex: which always makes me laugh since I drive a Tundra.

He gets plenty of reactions from the young ladies on the road and they usually reply with a smile. Heck, who doesn't want folks gawking at our cars. The poke is very effective at eliciting attention....so far no one has shown any hostility :p.

This story sounds like the old tale of the father buying a train set for his son and playing with it more than the boy.lol

Dale:

You have uncovered my secret.......sssssshhhhhh!!!

I am having fun with his car since I don't have anything of my own that I can "play" with. My Tundra is 11 years old and I modded that eons ago but I just won't part with it. It is my daily driver but still looking great inside and out to include a spotless engine bay so that calms me down. My wife gave me clearance to buy a 370Z but I don't want any cars out in the driveway. We have a 3-car garage, so I decided to get my son something fun and make it our project car. All I can say is this is far better than playing with his old race car set.
