Older style bumper swap

Hi,

New here, sorry. Can the older 08-10 front bumper cover be swapped on a 2013 XB very easily? I do not like the looks of the new bumper and the fins and LED's lights. I like the smooth round look of the older bumper a lot better. Does anyone know?

Thanks!

This should be a straight swap. Along with the 08-10 nose cap, you will also need the following 08-10 parts:
- upper grille
- lower grille
- fake "cheek" vents
- shock absorbing foam pad between the nose cap and the structural steel bumper

The 08-10 and 11-present headlights have the same shape but the wiring is different. Since you are retaining your 2013 headlights this is not an issue for you. You will lose your 2013 Daytime Running Lights that currently fill in the "cheek" vents in the lower corners of the front bumper cover, but there are aftermarket kits for the 08-10 nose, or you can make your own DRLs.

Another option for you may be to replace the 2013 DRLs with flat covers from the 11-12 cars. Good luck!

You will also need 2nd gen headlights as they are differently shaped as well. 2.5nd Gen headlights will NOT fit with a 2nd gen bumper cover.

I've read differing things about that. Some folks say the headlights are a different shape, others say they did the nose swap and did not change the headlights.

Maybe the headlights ARE a different shape but subtle enough so that not many notice? Like the rear tail lights shape difference between 2nd Gen and 2.5 Gen?

Anyone who has a 2.0/2.5 nose and headlight mix care to post pics?
Here's another thread, that gives support that the headlights are a different shape (not just the wiring):

Would still like to see pictures or hear from someone who has -done- the swap...
