Greetings all,

I'm brand new here, and the reason for joining is that in the very near future this 45 year old is looking at purchasing his first xb (new, army rock, base).

That said, the local dealers' lot has given me a quandary.

I was all set to purchase new ($16,975), but recently noticed a used (34K miles) 2011 Release Series on their lot priced at just $13,800.

The 2011 "Voodoo Blue" is in immaculate condition outside and in, clean carfax, and is complete with SNS 200 head unit and sunroof (as well as that body kit).

Question: Would you go for the 2011 ... or buy new?

on 2011 I bought a xB 2011 (used), it has only 15k miles, was black, I did not know much about the Xb's
then I realize that they offer the release 8.0 blue voodoo
man....!!!! I really like it, a lot, small changes here and there... but pretty good looking car.

I feel that I missed the chance to get one release 8.0 2011 blue voodoo

I went to the delearship to get the kens style kit and they did not sell it to me, because I was not a owner of a 2011 release 8.0

long story short...... I wait..... and I jump into a 2014 release 10.0
not many things as the release 8.0 (blue voodoo) or 9.0 (hot lava)

but in my opinion, I would suggest to you to get the release 8.0

at the end only you will decide

welcome to da club

best wishes !!

Get the rs. When I was looking for my xb I would look at the regular ones but in the end I kept thinking about the rs. And the 8.0 is the 2nd best looking release series too. Next to mine of course ;)

I'm not a huge fan of the RS. It's nice, but dollar for dollar, the new one is a better value. It would be a different story if there were major non-cosmetic differences between the two, but there just isn't enough there to merit taking the extra mileage for the cost.

Consider:

* You'll probably get much better financing (if you are financing) and incentives on the new xB
* The old xB probably has no bumper to bumper warranty (unless it was sold in nov/dec 11 originally, which is unlikely).

Havin does this in my 3 xB swappage I say you get what you boil it all down too. My first was a 08 bsp 5spd. I wanted a xB for years and I got one. Then I learned about the rs' s. It was a toss up between my first sights of the murasaki rs7 and then my instant love for the rs8 voodoo blue, which I ended up getting. In auto at that. Which was also a consideration for my wife and my soon to be driving daughter. But, after seeing more 'common' super whites around and the options of a true blank canvas I decided to do some looking. And I stumbled across a 12 5spd for 16 even last year(a leftover). I drove an entire day to pick it up. 8+ hours away. Being that I was getting divorced and had no problem teaching my daughter how to drive stick it was all good. Ive had my 12 supra white for a over a year and a half. And all my kids say is they miss the sunroof. (Yeh it was nice). I dunno. My tastes changed and I still enjoyed em all. You will too no matter which you get. Itll be yours.

The final decision is up to you, but I would consider the facts that the sun roof and body effects
are worth not getting after market. The Army Rock is the color that I would have chosen if it was available in '09 but I got HTM instead.
