I have a 2013 Xb Series 10, not even 8000 miles on it (bought new). Whenever I have a passenger and he/she exits, more often than not the seat belt alarm activates although no one is in the seat. I have to physically shut down the engine and restart to get the alarm to turn off. Of course, when I take it to the dealer they can't duplicate. Anyone out there experiencing something similar? Any recommendations on how to get the dealership to get this fixed? Thanks.

It happened to me once in a while - I just used a USB OBD2 cable and techstream to turn it off (it's one of the adjustable options)

There is another post about this too. I think it happens if you don't put it in park before they get out.

If the passenger unbuckles the seat belt before you have come to a complete stop and then gets out it'll happen. Does it every time I drop my youngest off at school. It'll stop beeping after a minute or so, just really annoying until it does.
Good info. It's intermittent so perhaps it's 3ither one or the other (or both) of the above reasons. I'll have to experiment a bit. Thanks for the help.

Had the wife wait to unbuckle her seat belt until I had come to a complete stop (car still in gear). No problem with the alarm sounding once she got out of that car and I drove off. So that one is solved! Thanks.

No problem. And just incase you ever try it, the clock is tied into that same circuit. you cannot adjust the clock while the vehicle is in motion. Really annoying when the time change comes and you don't realize it until you're driving down the road.
