Did it work? I need to take off ALL the trim on my dash and in the front seat area to paint. If someone wants to do a guide on how to take apart most of the inside of the car that would be sweet (I know most of it just pulls off but Id shoot myself if I broke something) .
Haven't tried it yet I tried prying earlier and they weren't budging. So Ill investigate more and tommorow Ill post a DIY for all the interior trim.
There are 2 screws on each side of the back of the steering wheel. loosen them, they will not come out just loosen. once they are loose the air bag will have wiggle room. the 2 silver parts are held on by one screw each, remove screws and tug.

The two thread have been merged. Now, good posts in both are in the same place.
(Sorry for any resultant repeated posts. They WERE separate previously.)
Sorry that was my fault I posted them twice because I wasn't getting an answer and I was getting frustrated because I couldn't figure it out!
