Hi all,
Got my BSP '08 xB in April, so this is our first winter together. It is now very cold weather, but my xB seems to be having a problem with the power windows. The windows on the drivers side (both front and rear) get stuck and won't go down when the car is cold. And it's not accumulated snow and ice, just damn cold. You can hear them "trying" but... no soap. They eventually work once the car's warmed up, but it takes a LONG time. Both passenger side windows go down no problem, even right after starting up cold, so I think it's a defect/problem.

I hate to take it in for warranty service over something minor like this, but I shouldn't have to drive around for an hour with the heat blasting just so I can roll the window down to use a drive-thru ATM.

I've had this happening with my windows also, but I believe it only a weather related issue. When your windows heat up the ice & snow will melt and run down to the weather seal at the bottom of the window. When you park the car, the water along the whole seal freezes. This may or may not be you issue, but this is what I am dealing with. The windows will not go down until the car is very warm.
