Have you ever started a project and have it grow into different directions? It has happened to me more than once. A while back, I started a project to add more light to the now all famous one backup light. After doing a lot of drawings, mockups, I finnally a finished product that works. That being said, I had the front door glass tinted (35%). Now the light that I augmented is now not bright enough. So I bought some flood lights from Oznium (~1.25" dia.) and am going to mount them 2 ea. on each side of the rear license. That requires that I run a wire from the b/u lite to the rear hatch. I took off the cover on the hatch, removed the plate, located and drilled the hole, and ran the wire towards the flex grommet located near the left hinge. There is a harness that runs up the frame of the hatch glass. It is not very roomy and I couldn't get through this channel to run the wire. So this norning, I went over to the local install shop to ask how much they would charge to run ~30 in. of wire up the frame. The guy looked at it and went back inside the shop. I closed the hatch and went inside to talk to the counter man.He said that it would be 1hour of labor ($75), I said no thanks. Lets see 30" of wire ~10mins. work-I'll take my chances and do it myself. Went to the local Harbor frieght and got a non conductive elect. fishing tape for $8, and my labor is free, to me.
