Truecar.Com has it at $18300 so it looks like you have a good offer if you're buying it in the States.
I live in the northeast so I definitely deal with a good amount of snow, so far with my manual transmission xB2.5 with stock tires and springs I found it to be fine in all types of snow, of course I take it slow, and haven't felt a need for winter or studded tires.
If you choose the xB for your next car I'm sure you'll love it, I do, yes the power train, mpg & gen is dated, but I feel the overall performance, reliability, utility of it fairs very well against most others in its class.
