I want to switch out my factory cal converter and replace it with one from magnaflow. Will this help my borla exhaust sound better and louder and which ones can I choose from. The magnaflow website was kind of confusing.

yeah dude, it should. The high flow cat will open up the pipes more and give you a bit more sound and maybe even a small boost in power.

I did that with an old firebird I had, calmed down a bit of rasp and made the exhaust sound awesome.

I'm trying to figure out which will be smarter. Do I get a different converter and the weapon R s-pipe or just get the weapon header and s-pipe combo.

not sure, the header will add rasp, but keeping the cat or adding a high flow cat can help the rasp.

Would switching out the headers and keeping the cat still make me pass emissions? I live in IL.

Nvm, apparently the XB has two cats, one on the header and then the one underneath the car.

if you swap the header that cat will be gone, but if you leave the other cat you should be fine.

My understanding is both OE cats are actually high flow, and a real advantage to the "scuba" is it does a great job of controlling "rasp". Still, if your intent is loud, the "scuba" will probably have to go. In terms of bolt-on performance, unless you go to F/I, the "scuba" is fine.
