I recently got the TRD CAI installed by Dealer on my 10 SCM XB. My question to you who have this item is does the pipe slip out from the engine to the rubber tube? I find mine to pop out all the time. I am wondering if its because the ring is not tight enough or they gave me a wrong size tube?

Hmmmm....push it back on...tighten the clamp...if it comes off again, complain to the service manager...next mod....consider doing it yourself!

What did your dealer charge you for installation?

I'd like to know this too. I really want the CAI. I can justify my purchase, saying its for the improved MPG, but i really just want the engine noise!

That is one of the most significant mods I have made and would say it was WELL worth the cost. That is still with stock header and exhaust. With an exhaust, it is supposed to be even better.

My only higher rated mechanical change is the sways. That would be a "must" for every xB. I don't know why the rear sway is an add-on and not stock. It should be. I have the Hotchkis sways and LOVE them! I am running stock springs and steelies with them too and the improvement is HUGE.

Does the on dash computer recognize the CAI and change the cars Range, Estimated miles remaining, and Average MPG?

As all that is based on calculations from the odometer, speedometer, fuel level and fuel injector sensors . . .
And the computer automatically adjusts the injectors and timing based on other engine sensors (like the O2-> yes, it is crucial for the fuel/air mixture and not just for emissions inspections) . . .
Those should take care of themselves.

I'm ordering the TRD CAI tomorrow from Sparks. Merry Christmas to me.
