As I was trying to replace dead battery last week. I sheared off a hose to radiator and the nipple that was attached. Is it true I must replace entire radiator or can this be fixed?
I'd replace the radiator. They're cheap enough nowadays- plus if you fix it and there's a small leak or rupture- it's overheating time for the box. Better safe than sorry. My .2 cents....

If you broke off the metal pipe where a rubber hose attaches it could possibly be brazed back on, but probably not for much less than a new one and you would still have a 14 year old radiator. RockAuto.com has radiators between $80-$135.

I've replaced a battery in my B and never had a problem doing it. To me, the hardest part is getting the old one and the new one one in. They're not light and also, if you don't want to
re install all the memory of the radio settings and getting the car driving routines, apply 9 volts thru the 12v port to keep all these settings up and running..
