Now we are driving the Xb I pay more attention to others that I see . I notoce the rear Wing . Aside from cosmetics , does it help with MPG ? or even better in keeping the rear of the car cleaner by moving the swirling air farther back ?
Just a slight rain/mist and the back of the box gets really nasty .

As far as HELP with mpgs, I wouldn't think itd make much dif at all. If the lil bit of rain bugs you now itll be worse with the spoiler. Imo. Rain is a hatchs worst enemy.

When I installed the spoiler on my '12 XB I noticed that the rear window stayed allot cleaner. I soon after uninstalled the rear wiper for a cleaner look.

Just get it. It looks way better and it does help with mpg a bit.

Is it easy to drill the mountings correctly ? I suppose I should make a template from a donor car. Maybe i could luck into a complete hatch ?

I put mine on because it just looks like it finishes the back end of nicely.

They come with paper strips that stick to the holes on the wing. You position the wing where you want it while a friend, or masking tape holds it in place. Then you tape down the paper strips and remove the wing leaving the strips behind. Then you drill the points on the paper strips and there you have it. Easy.

Personally, I think it is only cosmetic. Does it help with fuel consumption? Marginally if it did.

I have one. I don't think it keeps the rear window any cleaner.

But I think the xB looks naked without it.

This subject has been talked about in the past. One of the things you can do to help keep the rear window clean is to put Rain-X on it. I have done this and it helps. If the spoiler is Scion, the drilling template is available from Sparks Scion.

it is just an ornamet, but it make it look so good, it do not help with the mpg, it is just for the look... but in my opnion make it look much better

I always want one on my xB, I got the opportunity to "upgrade" got a good deal and my new xB came with the rear spoiler... I'm so happy... anyway

In my experience only cosmetics but I love the way it looks. I don't like how it looks with out it.

I can't agree more the feed backs. The only problem I had during the install was making sure that I didn't run into the wiring harness on the left. Other than that, if you take your time, it'll go just fine.
