My latest adventure in customizing my xB was to move the USB/AUX port from inside the armrest to under the sift/console next to the AUX Power Outlet. Most difficult was to pull the cable back from the center console to the sift console. There were two anchor places that had to be detached. In order to do this I had to pull up carpet as much as possible to reach under and remove tape from the anchors. One anchor is near the center console and the other where the cable ascends into the dashboard. The anchors in the arm rest were not a problem. In moving the outlet from the armrest the mounting bracket (plastic trim) for the usb/aux port was also removed. I used a piece of cardboard inserted into the arm rest to mark a template to use as a guide for the new USB/AUX location.

One issue that I have remaining is I'm not happy with the fit of the mounting bracket for the ports. The Shift console has a curve to it so the bracket does not fit tightly. Thinking of putting some sort of gasket or foam sponge to help trim this out for a better fit. I'm open to ideas...

I'd be more of wanting another power outlet there or having an extra power outlet next to the existing aux input. I like where the aux input is now because the phone or mp3 player plugs right in and can sit there.
