I got some random scratches on my interior door panels. Is there any fix to this, like a touch up or something?

Yeah i would like to know this too. I think the easy to scratch interior is one of the only bad things about an xB2.

My girlfriend/mother get really mad when i ask them to be careful w/ their purses when entering/exiting the car, cause i have a huge scratch on my glovebox.

I can deal w/ the xB having super thin doors and lacking an armrest to be super inexpensive, but I wish they had worked a little more on making the dash/door plastic sustainable.

^^^^and people crossing their legs with their shoes on! UGH!!! Mine's been scratched up since about a week into ownership... :(

I heard that if you heat up the plastic with a heat gun, then press the area with a textured leather, it will get it out. But I'm pretty iffy about doing this myself.

I would be careful with that too. It's hard to bring it back (if possible) to its original condition, because it's a textured surface.

Does anyone want to be brave and try heating it up and tell us if it works?

I did try heating mine with a lighter. It took out some of the scratch, but not all of it. If I tried it again, I would do it for a little longer ad try to get more of the scratch out.

When you used the lighter did you press the scratch down after?

did it flatten out? or does it still have a texture?
It did NOT flatten out. Basically, it removed the ridge and lessened the depth. I then took a marker, got some ink and blotted it on a wet towel and blotted the wet towel with ink over the scratched area. It blended in well.

That sounds like a good idea I'm kinda scared to do it.

I work in car audio, when there r scratches on plastic in cars usually I will use a plastic panel tools end (or a plastic screwdriver since most of you probably dont have snap on panel tools) and rub the scratch out. It works better if it is a softer plastic on the handle.

If it is just a light surface scratch you can just use your finger/fingernail and a lil bit of grease from your forehead and rub it on the scratch

I don't have any large or deep scratches, but on the driver's side door there were some scuffs. I used the Turtle Wax ICE when I detailed and it took out most of them or covered them...or something. Since I'm getting the new one, I'm going to try to be more careful, but since it's a daily driver...who knows?

Another trick Ive heard of is getting one of those ginormous crayon boxes with a billion diff colors and find one that matches your dash color and use that. I have not tried it but i have simply heard from other shops that it works.
