Replaced the "ugly" Grille

I hate the "ugly" front grille that comes with the xB2. I replaced both the upper and lower with this Billet Grille. Was real easy to do once I figured out how to get to the bottom one. Only took about 45 minutes. What do you think?

I really like it.
Good job!
I like it. That's one of the things I want to do when the money happens...
I actually haven't found a gill that is better than the stock. Those "Billet" grills are so "Yesterday looking", or ugly. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I didn't like the original grill OR a "polished billet" look, so I got the Sparks top slat grill and painted it satin black.

Which one?
Silver or black?
I dont know about JOEY G-xB but whered you get the black and how much?
and you said you had to paint them? was that just a simple layer of spray or what?
I won the grilles on ebay. I put in a best offer and the seller accepted. Only cost me $120.00 shipped for both. They go right on top of the original grilles but you have to take off the front emblem.

There is a thread on it here:

It is just spray painted black with a "heavy duty" or "tough" satin black paint.
The brand doesn't matter as much as that it isn't a gloss finish, so that it is similar to the other black plastic grill below it.
You could also get the set and paint it body color (DYI or ask Eviljack) . . .

Also, the Sparks one is made by Toyota, in some form, and is a full replacement grill. the original one is taken off and put aside completely.
Both look good to me. I think the silver looks nice with the SM color.
Neither look is better or worse, just different.
Each may prefer one look over the other.
i knew where Tartan Jack got his...and i would like to get the same one...only problem is that i have the factory fog lights and i need a billet grille that will fit around them! i have seen some on ebay, but you can never be too sure!

Plusd...i like it w/o the emblem.
Me too! they have some like those and i might get em, i think the scion emblem rocks! :D
I have NO issue with the Scion logo, just the HUGE size of it . . .
Mainly, I just don't like the stock grill (my OWN opinion).

Actually, I've been off-handedly thinking of taking an emblem off an extra hubcap (now have 2 sets-> so 8 logos) and using it on the the grill. I'm trying to think of a way to make it easily removable.
Got my grille

I took your lead and got the new grille. I like the finish, so I got some pin striping(black,1/4")and installed on the bright edge.It blends in perfectly. The install was OK but the instructions didn't mention that 2 screws are 4mm allen heads.Still waiting for feedback from Nu-Chrome on the dust caps.
