Hi All-
Just got my 2010 RS 7.0 and loving it. I'm thinking about adding a tow hitch to carry a bike or two. But it looks like the center exhaust might conflict with that. Anyone have any experience with this? Advice?

Don't have a r s but on my 11 the hitch bolts to the frame using existing holes on pass side. Drivers side you pull the tow hook out. Hitch sits snug with bumper in the middle.

The "problem" with the RS7 is that it has a center exhaust, unique to that model RS.

I just bought a hitch (non RS) (Draw-Tite) and when I was looking, it seems all of them had a note that they would not fit the RS series due to the center exhaust. I think you might be SOL with the RS.

Here is a visual of the RS7 exhaust.

Hitches for xBs use the three bolt holes on the 2 main structure frames on each side to mount the hitch. So, the exhaust and hitch try to occupy the same space, but only one can fit.

On a "normal" routed xB exhaust, the final pipe goes straight back from muffler to the bumper. The 7 makes an "s" bend to the center.

you'd need to get a new exhaust if you want a tow hitch.

Yup. How about a roof rack bike carrier?

Roof works with a rack, like Yakima, Thule, or Inno.
Another option is the strapped rear-hatch mounted ones like:

And many more sold at store like Academy, Walmart, bike stores (Great Escape is a good one in South Carolina), and the like.

I am way too clutzy to deal with a roof mounted bike rack. For sure I'd end up throwing my bike through the window. :clown:

I like the idea of the strap-on rack. Didn't even think of that, I'll have to look it up. Thanks!
