I was wondering the same thing (can this radio connect to a 2011). I suspect the antenna is different because of HD radio, and you need a mic connector for full phone/bluetooth speakerphone function.

It might help with the sale of the 2012 head unit to also show a pic of the back of the 2011 head unit, for comparison...
Besides I'm curious what the back of my head unit looks like!
