The AC in my 2008 xB has started working intermittently. Some days it works. Some days it doesn't. Even when it's not working the AC light comes on and the RPMs increase slightly at idle. It will even start working while I'm just driving down the road. Has anybody experienced this?

Hello. I have the same problem with my 2009 Xb. I tried adding A/C refrigerant with one of those kits and it helped a little. Then I cleaned up the condenser grill with hosing it down with water while the engine is cool and it seemed to help a little as well. A few weeks later, my A/C problem is back. No cool air. One thing I noticed is that when I parked and bring up the rpm then it starts to cool again or I will drive the xb then it cools again. I think it may he time for A/C overhaul.

I would check the ac relay and the wires that go into the compressor.

same thing is happening to my 12 Xb, sometimes is cold sometimes nop, and sometime it takes around 5 minutes drive to start cooling. Went to ac shop they say didn't fine anything but mostly if keep doing the same is a 1500$ job repair, evaporator and the whole 9 yards stuff. My car has 116581 miles already, so don't know if it's worthy
