Shifter Knob Adapter Problem, Help!

I have a 2015 Scion XB.

I recently had a custom shifter knob made.

I ordered an adapter from another retailer but the adapters collar is too small to fit my stock boot.

Here are some Pic's:

As you can see there is a big gap between the boot collar and the adapter ring groove.

It was suggested to use a zip tie but I do not want that. I spent a lot of money on the knob and adapter and don't want to cut corners. :crying:

I want it to have that factory fit look.

I can probably send the adapter back to the retailer I bought it from, I assume with no problem.

I don't know what to do at this point, can anyone please help?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Put the white plastic stock piece back on and let the adapter sit on top of that. you nay need to pull the boot up over it slightly to hide it completely but it should work fine.
Ah, I didn't realize that your adapter was that short. I used this method with my old Razo knob and adapter and still do it with my custom wood one now.
