I have been considering the side window deflector either off ebay or from WeatherTech.

All my previous cars have been either a coupe or a sedan. I don't know if it's because the XB is higher but when I roll down my windows, I get a lot of air coming in directly whereas my previous cars, the air coming in wasn't strong. With the XB, my hair gets all messed up too because the incoming air is so strong.

I am a smoker and I am on the road a lot. Therefore, I smoke in the car. With the XB, I've noticed that when I roll down the window, the air coming in is so strong that all the ash flies around the car and settles on the rear seat. Will the side window deflector solve this problem? Also, do they keep the rain coming in to some point? I'd like to be able to roll down my window an inch or two and smoke in the car without getting my floormat wet.

* By the way, comments like 'JUST QUIT SMOKING' aren't appreciated. I've been trying for years...

I looked for 2 months, after recieving 5 sets of incorrect window deflectors, I just got the right ones yesterday.
Most will send you the part for a 2006, contact Mac Neil and be sure to spell out 2008.
They were easy to install and so far are just what I wanted.
Good luck

I finally quit smoking 3 years ago, after 15 years. Best of luck to you however you decide though. For me it took quiting many many times before it finally happened, like riding a bike. But I failed MANY times over the years. Don't beat yourself up, do it on your time as you need to.

I'm about to get window deflectors also. But I want ones that are large enough to provide some side sun protection, since the visor is too short for the side.

Only partially on-topic, what it took for me to quit smoking: get engaged to a woman who refused to be with a smoker. I had tried many times to quit, but once she said "I don't think I could be with a smoker," I quit cold turkey for good. Net, there has to be something big at stake... or, at least it did for me.
