Hi, I'm not sure I'm even in the right section of the forum, but I thought I'd try here first.

The other day I changed the oil in my 2008 Scion xB, and after I reset the Maintenence Required warning light, the speedometer switched from reading in Miles/H to Km/H. I haven't been able to find out how to switch it back. Any suggestions?

The difference in units is a little confusing, but what makes it worse is that speed cameras were just installed in all the freeways here. I've got a bit of a lead foot, and I'm not quick enough to do the speed conversion in my head yet.

Its done with the bottons on the guage face. Go to the distance remaining or something similar. Then Hold the button till it changes back to MPH.

2009 owner's manual...I presume they are the same...

"The speed units, km/h and MPH, can be selected by pushing the trip meter reset knob for more than one second when the odometer indication is displayed."

I think that means that when the odometer is displayed, push the trip reset knob for more than one second.

ok so being a canadian with an xb i can tell you what you need to do cus i had 2 go from mi to kms its easy set you odometer to odo then press and hold till it goes back to miles

So this happened to me once. I am Canadian and I'm used to KM/H. I was cleaning the dash and pressed the button accidentally. Ironically, I was headed to NY State that date and to my surprise, I was like... What the heck?

How did my speedometer know that I was in the states? How is the reading MPH now? Is there some sort of tracker on my car? I was baffled...

... then looked inside my owners manual.
