Hubby has an X-Runner and got this info on XRUnderground since we both want to put smoke tint on our tails. He was told you can buy the supplies at a hobby store, but I see you can also buy the tint online. Since we haven't dont this yet, I'll just put up the steps from their forum:
1. Remove tail light assembly.
2. Clean with alcohol to make sure there is no grease or dirt.
3. Spray a coat of clear gloss and allow to dry thoroughly.
4. Spray a coat of the smoke and allow to dry thoroughly. (Repeat until you have desired color.)
5. Spray a coat of clear gloss and allow to dry thoroughly.
6. Pop those puppies back on and enjoy.

I hate the solid red and don't want to spend a fortune on after-market tails right now, so this is the solution for me.

Removing the AUG Lenses fogger is no easy feat! You might be able to doit but I doubt it! Use the AUG its worth the extra couple bucks. I used a local type of tint like that at a hobby shop on my turn signals on my mirrors and it did not work as well as the AUG at all. The AUG is so simple and doesn't run or bubble.

Night Shades!!!, Its easy to apply, looks great, and it is Cheap. About $11 per can, you only need one. Just some advice, put light coats on, watch out for drips, and use a clear coat topcoat to protect it, let it air dry, no heat lamps needed. Just do a google search and you'll find it.

I Hated the stock color of the taillights. Th bright red just didnt do it for me. The tint works very well, and u really cant mess it up. Its well worth it, just do it already!
