I'm driving home from a car show some distance away. I know I will be driving different speeds and different roads, so I clicked over to the mileage meter on the dash. Well, the numbers were nuts. It went from 9 to 90. I didn't know what I was seeing or how to interpret it. All I wanted to know was the mpg. Any ideas?

Hi,

Thats easy to answer. The crazy numbers you were seeing are the 'instant' mpg the computer takes readings every 1 or 2 secs. if you want to see your average mpgs you need to push the display button 1 more time keep in mind the average mpg takes all the readings recorded since the last reset in other words all the stop and go driving trips and everything is calculated the average mpg reading you'll get will not be exact for the longer trips. so if you go for a long drive set it to average mpg then hold the disp button to reset this will give you the correct average mpg.
