Hello ,

The day after I added 50/50 coolant in my Scion XB 2008 the temp gage went half way .
It was a quarter before adding the coolant .
Weird? The needle goes half way when the engine is barely warm ..
Could the coolant be bad ?

As far as I know, ( I've owned a 2009) the needle should always read halfway. Drive around and keep an eye 👁 on it- it shouldn't go anywhere past halfway.

I probably didnt look carefully before..got it 2 months ago ))
Also have a 2011 but it doesn't have an analog gage

If the coolant level was low enough, it may have air in the system. That can prevent circulation of the coolant. You may need to "burp" the cooling system to get the air out.

Not sure it was that low ...someone else said that his scion had always been half way ...
