I pulled my driver side A-pillar trim panel today and found this:

It's an attachment clip behind the panel. I know it's there to secure the panel if the airbag goes off. Also that I'm supposed to rotate it somehow to remove it. Well I tried to rotate the black base but it doesn't want to move and I'm scared I'll break it. Can someone please provide more detailed instructions on how to get this clip out without breaking it? Thanks.

Having just pulled 4 a-pillers yesterday while doing a headliner swap all I did was use a flathead screwdriver to wedge the sort half of the clip through the opening and the pulled to get the long half through. For putting it back on I lined up the long half in the slot and then pushed the short half in with a long flathead screwdriver. It's quite a sturdy clip so you can put a fair amount of force to it with no worries.
