I am taking a trip soon and I would like to to my 600cc bike with me. I know for sure that the Xb can tow at least one motorcycle, but I was hoping to buy a second while I am home. If the Xd can tow one bike and Uhaul allows me to rent a trailer then would it be safe as long as I do not exceed speeds above 60-70mph?

Or would it be best to go back without and buy the one there and make the drive back with only one bike in tow?

the exact same car in Australia is rated for 500 kg which is 1100 pounds. Probably a legal thing here in the US, or maybe it's below US expectations so they don't advise it. That said, a number of forum members tow light utility trailers, and other xB owners tow "teardrop" camping trailers. So I think as long as you keep the towing load light and the speed reasonable, you should be fine.

Ive towed my rc51 AND my brothers zx600e, both heavy pigs, with my 4x8 trailer to and through the dragon and back, from chicago. Youll be fine. Keep your weight centered as you should. If you cant pick up the trailer to hitch it up, your tongue weight is too much. Just a imo from my experiences. Take your time and enjoy your drive.

Road Train :) I remember actually seeing some TV show about Aussie backcountry road train driving. Reverse parking...hah no way.
