It seems they have floor mat issues, namely mats coming loose and interfering with pedals. That sounds dangerous. Owners are recommended to remove the mats.

The relevant models:
2007-2010 Toyota Camry
2005-2010 Toyota Avalon
2004-2009 Toyota Prius
2005-2010 Tacoma
2007-2010 Toyota Tundra
2007-2010 Lexus ES350
2006-2010 Lexus IS250 and IS350

That is a good bit of the models Toyota makes . . .
Notably, the Corolla, Matrix, and Yaris are absent. So, it isn't all Toyotas, just some VERY high profile ones.

No, Toyota isn't immune. I just found it an odd recall. It is the first I heard of mats causlng crashes in the real world. I thought that it was interesting, esp. in regards to the recent discussions of floor mats on here.
I found it interesting, more so than mechanical or electrical issues on cars I don't own.

Yep.
The rev limiter will keep it from blowing its mill and it will slow right down.
