Has anyone attempted to install a light so you can actually see what is in your trunk?

I've seen people add brighter bulbs to the existing rear light. I agree, I've often thought if I actually had some free time I'd add one right over the rear seat headrests so the back seat and the cargo area had light. Just wire it off the front light. Using LED's is should draw much power. Even using the factory lights it should be fine. One day I'll get around to it.
The answer is yes. I was strolling around in a local auto parts store (Salvos),and found a LED cargo light. It was flat, about 3"x5" with 6" leads, gray in color,~$20. To install it,measure to the center of the headliner, just behind the roof support, punch a small hole for the wires. The liner just pulls down a little, enough to run the wires.Pull the side panel to access the cargo lite/switch and hook up the lite to the switch, put all panels back. The lite itself, has double stick tape and 2 small screws.carefully put the screws in so the assembly snugs up.One more thing off the to do list.
hit up Oznium, but some floods, connect them to your dome light so they turn on when the dome light turns on. That's be sick... maybe I'll do that.
I've been meaning to do this for a while too. I thought about the floods too. Looking around Oznium, I also saw these:

LED Holders

Does anyone know if it would be bright enough to just stick a few of these in a line across the headliner above the cargo area? Shifting cargo busted my 3rd brake light so I need to place an order with Oznium anyway.
I took one of these ( Square Superflux LED Channel Light ) and wired in a dummy bulb so it would work with the existing wiring and it is amazing at night. I did shave a little bit off of the sides so it would fit, but it is way brighter than any single bulb.
I added 2 white LED strips at the top of each C pillar and also replaced the truck light bulb with a 6 white LED festoon style bulb. You can see what I did here:

How much of a diference does a 6led bulb make for the cargo replacement? I don't want to get into a lot of wiring just more light from exsisting spots

The problem is the location of the existing cargo light. It's too low. Although the replacement 6 LED bulb helped, I think the overhead LED strips did much more.

You could do it in steps. Do the LED replacement first. Pretty cheap on eBay. You could go for an LED light panel with a festoon adapter. With a panel you can go for more LEDs, like say 9 LEDs on the panel. That should be plenty bright for the cargo area. The panel with festoon adapter is likely less than $8. The adapter also makes it easier to add additional lighting if you decide you need it.

I once had a 24 LED panel (5050 type, very bright) in the dome light and the interior was almost painfully bright at night. Now I'm using a 12 LED panel (again, 5050 type) in the dome light and it's still plenty bright.
I see everyone is using 31mm festoon bulbs are they super tight or should I just get then28mm 6 bulb ones off amazon so they fitmright my factory lights are fine just want a whiter light.
u thought about this?

I would have done them like yours but i dont need that much light lol i actuall run the maps alot while i am driving well my wife does. Ended up costing $27.00 to the door. those are some nice map lights, Ive been in need of a replacement.
yep that would be them the only reason i went all from v leds is cause i am super anal about stuff matching lol. It was the only way I could make sure the color temps were exactly the same. You can get leds cheaper and faster through amazon but I had to go through vled cause they had the matching temps. I almost went through super bright leds but they were to high! I will post before and after pics when I get them.
