Has anybody else noticed the tray at the back of the engine compartment? It has several pockets or bins with dividers and looks like it is intended for something specific. There is also some kind of vent/intake at the far left. It's a great place to put tools while you're working on the xB, but wonder if Scion had something else in mind.

My guess.. take up the gap between the hood and the windshield for better air management inside the engine comnpartment.

I agree with bob as far as what its designed for. However I used it for a tool tray when working on the xB as well.

Yup! Its a really handy tool rack! Just have to remember to pick up everything when i'm done... :yes:

I haven't HAD to work on mine yet, eveything I've done was because I've wanted to. :yes: And yes it is a great tool tray. Holds intake parts to while you are removing them. :rofl j:
