The crash bar under the bumper is INCREDIBLY strong, and it has those two giant mounting holes for tow hooks. I would fabricate something that uses those as the mounting point; that way you don't have to cut into anything and you know it's going to be extremely solid.

You should search for some of TartanJack's build threads. He played around with driving lights in several different configurations on his xB. He's very creative with his xB, but I haven't seen him around in quite a while.

I think I saw his build. It is the one that he retroed all out. I saw that setup with the lights but I don't know how you would just mount them to the grill like he did. A rally light bar seems like it would look pretty sweet too.
