Sorry guys i know i should have done a DIY but i did this after an epic FAIL of using vinyl on the front bumper and was so frustrated haha.
This is how i did it:
-Take dash piece off (i used a DIY from this site to do this)
-When the piece is out of the car, you still have to take the lower trim off as well as the vents.
-Now you will be left with the piece that you see coverd in vinyl
-Next i put the dash piece on a piece of vinyl to kind of mock it up. Cut a piece of vinyl that is about 2" longer on all sides of the dash piece.
-Now just peel the vinyl with the sticky side up, and just lay the piece on. I did this on the floor.
-Here is where you will need a heat gun, or in my case... my wifes hair dryer.
-Turn the piece over and begin to work on one side at a time. You will heat up the vinyl and start stretching it over the curves. This will get a bit tricky because you might get a few folds. The good news is that using the heat you can just lift the vinyl back off and fix it as many times as you need. Be careful not to heat and stretch it too much because it will eventually break.
-Repeat for the other side
-Now for the vent holes and the square spot for the radio, i heated the vinyl up, poked a hole thru it and cut 4 slits into each. (picture the cut as the N,S,E,W sign or a + sign) You have to make these + cuts in each vent hole and radio hole.
-Work on one section at a time, use a lot of heat and stretch the vinyl toward the inside or back of the dash piece.
-Once you are done you may or may not have to trim excess vinyl from the back
-If you see bubbles heat the area and try pulling the vinyl off, stretching it again and lay it smooth
-when you are satisfied put the trim piece back on and the vents as well. Be careful while putting the vents back in because you may mess up the vinyl that you stretched toward the inside.
Well i hope that was some sort of help, as much as it could be without pics. And if you think you cant do this.... trust me you deff CAN do it, cause i have no skills at vinyl work or window tinting or skills with a blade and it still came out pretty **** good. Took me about 30 mins tho but im sure you guys could do it quicker.
