We got our Scion Stingray in July, paid extra for the Finishtouch exterior protectant. We have never washed it with water, just waterless car wash by Smart Wax. My daughter got a smart idea one day and "hosed " it off. So next time I go to waterless wash it I can not get the water spots off the hood. With the supposed sealant I didn't think we could get water spots. I don't know if I should try waxing (I read here somewhere that waxing the sealant removes the sealant) or use something else or if I should take it to the deal and say "what's up?!" We paid good money to not have this problem. Any suggestions???

use a mild Vinegar solution in a spray bottle. Spots are hard water deposits and the vinegar is a mild acid that will dissolve the spots and not hurt the paint.

We have water so hard you have to cut it to get a drink here in OKC. Usually just getting them wet and using soap to help the water penetrate the spots will remove them. I wash with normal water and Mequiars Gold soap and then use Eagle 1 Wax as You Dry eliminates water spots without much hassle.

BigMikeLV, I bow before you. You are my hero for the week. My great uncle Clary swore that vinegar would cure anything and I guess he was right. I should have remembered. My bad.

And thanks MidLife for the help though I don't want to spend the money to get all those goodies you mentioned. Sounds like too much work for this old gal. LOL

Clay the spot(s), use paint cleaner, then wax.
