I have considered installing the xm radio and would like to know what is on the display. My brothers Honda does not show the song that is playing. It shows the channel number and the name of the channel. I wonder if the pioneer radio lacks the full display.

Here’s what the manual states “ TEXT, Press and indication in the display changes as follows: CH NAME – TITLE (SONG/PROGRAM TITLE) – NAME (ARTIST NAME/FEATURE) – CH NUMBER – CH NAME”
I just put XM in last Friday and it was quite work out. I can see why the dealer allots themselves three to four hours for the install. I have the basic Pioneer head unit, it can show 16 characters at time and I think it doesn’t scroll through the longer lines (not sure about that though) like my Roady XT does. I really hope it shows the baseball scores I haven’t tried that yet with pre-season game. I really didn’t want to install my XT in this car since couldn’t find good place to put it. I was bummed that the head unit doesn’t show the song titles on FM, but then again it is the basic unit. It lets one set 18 presets. So the answer is yes it shows song title and artist name when the TEXT button is pushed.

i have SIRIUS and also have the premium HU...and mine displays the Channel Name as you're flipping through them them it displays Song Title on top line and Artist on bottom line...here's a pic!

Thanks for the info. My brother got a Honda and the xm menu is crap compared to my skyfi head that I was using. I was afraid that it would not show the song name ect. It has all the features from what I see. Speaking of radios showing the songs I have the upgrade unit and I have never been able to get the text part to work on regular fm. I took the maual in the house to look it over and lost it so I might be missing something.

on regular fm radio it wont show the songs or artist...just the radio station numbers...as far as i know! Upgrade to satellite radio and say FU to the FCC!
