Ok so here is the dealio. I got some money set aside for upgrades. I was originally gonna buy Intake, header, and exhaust. Then I found out the other night that the TRD supercharger is on its way. Will be readily avaliable in June. I only have about a third of the cost of the supercharger. I may be able to save the money up by June. Especially if I put in 8hr overtime days each week. But is it worth it? I mean yeah the horsepower will be nice. As is I get stomped by my friends honda si, which I used to leave in the dust no problem. And I get easily out ran by my other friends tC even though its an unmodded version of my engine. Of cousre he is lighter. There are drawbacks though. Mostly gas related. If gas wasn't so expensive I would do it with out even thinking. However I would have to run premium gas and probably won't get very good gas mileage. What do you guys think?

Here's the old guy's perspective.

1. Do what's gonna make you the most happy.
2. IMO though, did you really buy your XB to rule the strip? Even when you're being blown away by a faster car.... you're riding one of the coolest things on 4 wheels.
3. At $4 a gallon and 12,000 miles per year, the difference between 20MPG and 25MPG is about $500. Whether that's enough to make a difference is up to you. Bank that much every year from now until you're my age (56) and you're pulling around a pretty nice bass boat.

I don't think I could add anything to that.... We had a Mitsubishi Eclipse GT that only took premium and I couldn't wait to get rid of that car. Even if I did have the money sitting around to throw at a supercharger for my tC, that's what would have turned me off, ultimately. Figure $ per hp and decide if that's worth it to you.
