Just looking for opinions on wheel choices for my XB. I have a Blackberry Crush and torn on what kind of wheels to go with and what color. Here are a couple that I am considering.

All in 18" with 225/40/18 tires.

Not asking you to chose for me, just looking for your thoughts.

Hi, Welcome to NSxB!

I have the Nautical Blue Metallic and I like the contrast the bright silver. So I would pick number 2, however if you want everything more subdued then go with number 1.

Thanks! At this point I think I am heading more towards a Gunmetal or Hyper Black mesh wheel like number 1. Though I have to admit that number 3 is my fav. Of course it is also the most expensive of the 3.

I think they're all beautiful rims, but I find myself thinking... oh my gawd, how are you ever going to keep those clean. *Sigh* laziness wins over beauty for me every time.

After leasing cars for the last 6 years I know how easy it is to be lazy with a car. I just drove them and that was about it. Now that I am buying my Scion, I am trying to change my approach.

How bad is the ride going to be with 18" rims and 225/40/18 tires? I have a 25 mile one way drive to work and do not want to suffer.

Sure wish I knew the answer to that one - I've been considering upgrading to the 19" TRDs, but my one-way commute is a little over 32 miles and then I put more for work miles on during the day. Two weeks, 2000 miles, and the car is running great.

I drive with that same exact set up and its fine. And I live in PA which has crappy roads.

Thats good to know. My other concern is the roads here in the Metro Detroit area, most of them may as well be dirt roads

Probably should also mention I made a cross country trip to vegas and back on that same wheel setup.

Instead of starting another post I will see if I can get an answer here. What kind of offset would you need to run to fit an 18X8.5 rim? I am at stock height and not sure that will change.

I know you could run a 8.5" in the rear with the stock offset. If your wanting to run that in the front you probably wanna run a 35mm offset.

Thanks eviljack! I will have to look into these rims and see what offset they come in. I think choosing a rim has been one of the hardest things. I am thinking about going with a bronze rim now, but the one I am looking at is 8.5" wide and don't want any problems. Being new to these cars and non factory rims and tires, with a 35mm offset, will the tires still be inside the wheel wells? The guys at the tire stores are as useless as the electronics guys at BB or CC.
