Does anybody know where the sensor for the outdoor thermometer is located?
It has to be in the shade, and not too close to hot things, i.e. the sun, engine, interior heater, etc.
It must be in a pretty clever spot, because the times I've compared it to other temperature gauges it has been spot on.

Thanks Scion xB Freak,
Because wind doesn't affect actual ambient temperature, that location makes sense as long as it's also in front of the radiator (is it?)
And yet, wind DOES affect the temperatures of things that generate their own heat (the wind chill factor), i.e. people, mammals, birds. If the sensor is too close to the radiator it might pick up heat from it. I suppose they checked all that in advance before they settled on a place to put it.
