Why is the dealer telling me toyota recommends a yearly alignment? Seems ridiculous maybe if I lower my b, but just a yearly thing that shouldn't be affected?
Oh and they want $150!! Crazy!
My girl had a tc for 3 years and they never pulled this crap.
Is it just this dealer?
Any one else experience this?

i got my car in march last year and they never said such a thing to me. Just check ur tires, if they are wearing out fast then u should do alignment. Otherwise keep that $150 and buy something nice :)

Alignments do get out of spec over time, especially if you hit curbs or routinely run over railroad crossings. Once a year seems a bit much and $150 is too high. Like Rolya I'd advise that tire wear be your guide, and maybe every other year do an alignment.

Welp I dont run over rail roads or hit curbs so..
I'm just shocked they keep asking me to do this to a brand new car. Talking about request per toyota to do it once a year? Ridiculous.

I just put new tires on my '09 from Mr. Tire and got an alignment at the local dealer for $95 (just an alignment,no rotation). This is the first alignment since I got the car. Tire wear was even with no unusual signs, I had 20k miles on it.

Speaking from working at a Toyota dealer for a long time.... They are crazy! That is no where in any maint guide. The only remote thing it says it to rotate the tires like every 5k. They are just trying to stick you for a 150. We used to charge $80 and that was a lot because you can only align the front end.

Yea man it's crazy. This is the second time they are asking me. They said I see you declined the recommended yearly alignment and we recommend you do it this time.
Get out of here with that crap lol.

It sucks that there continue to be dealerships such as this, attempting to take advantage of customers like this.

I have quit using a local dealership that I have purchased 2 vehicles from in the past do to exactly what this thread topic reveals.....corrupted dealerships looking for a shakedown.

Maybe the OP should name and shame the stealership, to stop potential new customers from the cornhole experience?

Maybe calling SCION USA and letting them know

Thats a rip but if you do plan on getting an alignment i would recommend Firestone lifetime, which means you pay once and go however many times you want or need for as long as you own the car and i believe its $160 plus you can always add discounted coupons online and it could be less. That is what i bought when i got my new tires, just to get it out of the way since i have future plans on lowering the car.

Is there no fine print that all deals are off if you start changing up suspension parts?
